This was a free open source application called VSTAU, that claimed to be an Audio Unit adapter which theoretically allowed VST plug-ins to be used in AU hosts. This application created wrappers for your VST plug-ins in that will make them available as Audio Units in programs like Logic Pro and GarageBand.

- AU vs VST - We recommend using the VST version of plugins, when available, on macOS. There are two reasons; 1. This will ensure Mac/Windows compatibility when sharing projects. AU plugins do not use the same naming conventions and so FL Studio won't be able to match a VST and AU plugin when loading projects.
- FXpansion's VST to AU Adapter allows you to enable your VST effect and instruments plugins for use in Logic 7, 8 and 9 and other AU plugin hosts which do not also offer VST plugin support. The Adapter uses negligible CPU power and provides a simple configuration tool which scans for VST plugins on your system and creates AU plugins from them.
