I'm still running Kong's latest firmware, but I'm having bugs with the router. It might be best for me to just reflash it, which I might do, but is there a better firmware?
Last I checked BS still needed to get his hands on one.

I'm on the latest and it's running well. My ISP is only 100 down and 10 up though. If I remember right you have much higher speeds. So not sure what to expect as far as speeds. 2.4 GHz only 20 width works so you need to set a channel or it may pick a 40 width. 5GHz you also need to select a channel or it will pick a 20 width. An nvram erase coming from stock may cause bootloops.

try the last BS build its not bad, so far so good..it has a lot of changes since last Kong build...

If you have a moment, could you please explain in more detail where exactly exactly exactly to find the install files for the AC2300 R7000P? (Fresh out of the box)
Looking at the installation guide, there is a stern warning not to use the Router Database -- it says instead to use 'the directory' - but the only directory I see is the Beta directory -- which itself says it should only be used by experts (which I am not)...

Scroll through the forum posts, look for 'New Build', check the most recent one (43718), there are download links to the proper revision number directory. Scroll down to the 'R7000P' folder. There will be two files. The *.chk file is for initial flash, and should be all you need to get started until you upgrade again. Future releases, you will need the webflash.bin file to upgrade from the webUI. I hope this answers your question. My inbox is not always a help desk, but at least you got my attention so I could reply here.

Much appreciated, thank you. Is there a way to reset my device to its current IP address (192.168.1.2)?

Why would you need to reset anything? I flashed straight from 40270M kongac without a hitch.
